Mobile Homes Matter Too
Mobile homes are built on a steel frame and unlike a traditional foundation, there's a lot more that can slip by. It is very important to make sure :
-
the underpinning is solid, level, and secure.
-
water lines are properly insulated as they freeze quicker than traditional foundation homes
-
the electrical outlet provides sufficient power to the heat tape/lamp source
Additionally mobile homes are built with varying roofing structures that require specific attention to detail. On many roofs, swamp coolers have been installed and should be inspected for any leakage. Finally, even if the unpinning is in perfect condition, your flooring could still lack proper foundation structure that could lead to potential hazards.
Fifth Wheels & RVs
Unlike mobile homes, 5th wheels and RVs are built on a wheel base instead of steel; moving parts are more likely to fail than static counterparts so it's important to make sure everything is up-to-date.
5th wheels and RVs also have unique water heaters and furnaces that require inspections to ensure proper function and installation.
5th wheels and RV's can be permanent living quarters for some people that require similar inspections as constructed homes prior to selling
